Brother Printer QL-820NWB WiFi Setup
You can follow along with these steps below instead of the Brother instruction book.
This document can be used to set up QL-820NWB for WiFi interface model of Brother label printers.
Step 1: Unbox and configure the printer
Unbox your printer.
If you need to order badges, you can purchase Brother DK-1202 model badges from the retailer of your choice.
Assemble and insert the roll of badges into the printer.
Plug the black power cord into the printer and a power socket.
Press the power button to turn on the printer. Make sure the green status light comes on.
Use the [▲], [▼] and [OK] buttons to set your language, the time and date as prompted.
If you’re not already on the main screen, navigate there now using [↩] button.
Press the [Menu] button.
Use the [▲] and [▼] buttons to select WLAN > WLAN (On/Off) > On in the settings menu. Press [OK].
Use the [▲] and [▼] buttons to select WLAN > Infra Manual Setting in the settings menu. Press [OK].
Your printer will search for available Wi-Fi networks. Remember, your printer and iPad will be on the same network.
Note: The Brother printer only supports connections to 2.4 GHz wireless band. If you are using a dual-band router, your iPad(s) can remain connected to the 5 GHz band and your printer can connect to the 2.4 GHz band.
Use the [▲] and [▼] buttons to select your desired network. Press OK.
Provide your password.
Look at the top right on the screen. Press [Menu] to switch between uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols.
Use the [▲] and [▼] buttons to select the correct characters.
If it connects, it will say “Connected!” Press [OK].
If it does not connect, repeat steps 9 through 14.
Press the [↩] button to return to the main screen. You should see the Wi-Fi icon in the top right.
Step 2: Find the IP address
Use the [▲] and [▼] buttons to select WLAN > WLAN Status > Infrastructure Mode in the settings menu. Press [OK].

Step 3: Pair the printer with Vizmo
On your computer, log in to Vizmo Dashboard, and go to Devices > Add Printers.
Select Brother QL-820NWB.
Type your IP address in the field, and click “Add.”
Step 4: Enable badge printing
Go to Visitors > Settings > Check-in flow.
If you have multiple visitor types, you’ll configure badge printing per visitor type.
- Select the visitor type you wish to edit.
- Select Badge from the left navigation.
- Toggle Badge printing to the “on” position.
While check in, If you have multiple visitor types, only a visitor type that has badge printing enabled prints the badge.
We recommend having your IT team set up a static IP address.
Using a static IP address will provide you with continuous connectivity to your printer.
In other words, you’ll never have to worry about your IP address getting reset.
