Switch between the Admin portal and the Employee portal

Switch between the Admin portal and the Employee portal

If you have an admin role, you can move to the Employee portal to use Vizmo as an employee, for example to see Home, book a desk or room, or use the Live Map. You can then move back to the Admin portal.

Before you start

  • You need an admin-type role, such as company admin, location admin or a product admin (for example Desks admin). Employees without an admin role are already in the Employee portal and have nothing to switch to.
  • You must be signed in to the Vizmo portal.

Switch to the Employee portal

  1. Sign in to the Vizmo portal.
  2. Click your name at the top right (Hello <your first name>).
  3. Select Employee Portal.

Result: the Employee portal opens on Home for the location you were viewing, or for your first location if none was selected.

Switch back to the Admin portal

  1. In the Employee portal, click your name at the top right.
  2. Select Admin Portal.

Result: the Admin portal opens on the dashboard for your location. If you are a product admin, it opens on the first admin page for your product instead.

Tenant admins

If you have a tenant admin role, the menu works slightly differently:

  • Outside the Employee portal, the menu shows Employee Portal.
  • In the Employee portal, the menu shows Tenant Admin Portal. It opens the dashboard for the first location assigned to your tenant admin role.
  • The regular Admin Portal item is hidden for any account with a tenant admin role, even if the account also has another admin role.

When you do not see the switch

  • You only have employee access, with no admin role.

Troubleshooting

I don't see Employee Portal in the menu. Check whether the case above applies. If you are a tenant admin, make sure the role is assigned to a location. Ask your company admin to check your roles.

The Employee portal has fewer menu items than the Admin portal. That is expected. The Employee portal has its own menu, and items such as Desks, Rooms and Live Map depend on which products are enabled for your location.
