Find a missing menu in the Vizmo portal

The menus you see in the Vizmo portal depend on four things: the portal and view you are in, the location you have selected, the products that are switched on for that location, and the permissions your role gives you. This article helps you find out why a menu is missing.

Check these first

  1. Check whether you are in Company View or a location. Company View shows company-wide menus such as Locations, Admins, Privacy, Single Sign On(SSO) and Developer. Menus such as Floors, Zones, Live Map, Meals, Tenants, Digital Registers, Automation, Location Settings and each product's Settings are only inside a location. To go to a location, open it from Locations. To go back, select Company View at the top of the left menu. For more on the two views, see Company View and Location View.
  2. Check the location. Use the location selector at the top of the left menu. Each location has its own products and its own roles, so a menu can be there in one location and missing in another.
  3. Check the portal. Open the Hello menu in the top bar. It offers a switch to the other portal: Employee Portal when you are in the Admin Portal, and Admin Portal when you are in the Employee Portal. Admin pages such as settings, devices and floors are in the Admin Portal. The pages employees use are in the Employee Portal. If the menu never offers Admin Portal, your account may have only the employee role. Ask a Company admin to check your role.

What each menu needs

Company admins see every menu that is available for the location. Other roles also need the permission listed. For what each role can do, see Roles and permissions: what each role can do.

Company View

Company View is for Company Admins. Most of its menus are always shown to them. A few depend on more:

  • Analytics appears when at least one dashboard has been set up.
  • Desks, Rooms and Parking appear when the product is available in at least one of your locations.
  • Integrations and Audit Logs need permission to view them.
  • Developer needs permission to view integrations. It is not available on on-premise deployments.

Employee Portal

  • Home is always there.
  • Visitors (Visitor Logs and Invites) needs Visitors to be turned on for the location.
  • Live Map, Desks, Rooms and Parking need the product to be turned on for the location. The booking pages inside them need permission to view bookings.
  • Meals > Meal Bookings needs Meals to be available for your company and turned on for the location.
  • Directory > Employees is hidden when the location uses the Hide Employee Directory setting. See Hide the employee directory.

Ask an admin to check

  1. Confirm that you are assigned to the right location and have the role you need. An admin can check this under Directory > Roles.
  2. For a product that is missing, a Company Admin can open Location Settings > Location and check the Product Settings card. A switch that is greyed out means that product is not available for your company, or your account can only view the settings. Availability: if this option is greyed out or missing, contact your Vizmo account manager.
  3. After a role or setting change, reload the page, or sign out and sign in again, before you check the menu.

Note: Only Company Admins see the Product Settings card.

If you see an access message

If you open a page directly, for example from a saved link, and your role cannot use it, Vizmo shows a message such as You don't have access to Integration Instance page and takes you back to your home page. Check the portal, the location and your role, then ask your admin for the access you need.

If you still cannot find a menu, email support@vizmo.in. Include the menu you need, the location you have selected, the portal you are using and any message you see.
