A floor is a section of your location, such as "Ground Floor" or "Level 2". Desks, rooms and parking spaces are organised by floor, and each floor can have its own map. This article shows you how to add a floor in the Vizmo portal.

Before you start

• You need a role that can create floors. If you don't see New Floor, ask your company admin.
• Floors are used with desks, rooms and parking, so the Floors menu appears once one of those is turned on for your location.

Add a floor

1. Sign in to the Vizmo portal and select your location.
2. Click Floors in the left menu. The All Floors page opens.

   

3. Click New Floor. The New Floor panel opens.
4. Enter the Floor Name. This is required, and each floor in the location needs a different name.
5. Optionally, enter a Description.

   

6. Click Create.

Result: you see "The new floor has been added successfully" and a card for the floor appears. Until you add a map, the card says "No layout uploaded".

What next?

1. Click View Details on the floor's card to open the floor. From there you can add desks, rooms and parking spaces. See View floor details.
2. To add a map, click View Layout on the floor's page and select a PNG or JPG image of the floor. See Upload a floor layout for the full steps.

Troubleshooting

I don't see Floors in the menu. Floors is not shown to users who only have the Employee role. Ask your admin for a role that can view floors. It also appears only when Desks or Rooms is turned on for your location. If Desks and Rooms are not available, contact your Vizmo account manager.

I see "Floor name already exists." Floor names are compared without regard to capital letters, so "Level 2" and "level 2" count as the same name. Choose a different name.

I see "Please enter the required details." The Floor Name is empty. Enter a name and click Create again.
