A layout is a map image of a floor. Upload one so that you can show where each desk, room or parking space is on the floor.

Before you start

• Your role must allow you to update floors. If you cannot see the buttons below, ask a company admin to check your role.
• The floor must already exist. See Add a floor.
• Desks, rooms or parking must be turned on for your location. Otherwise the View Layout button is not shown.
• Have your floor plan ready as a PNG or JPG image.

Availability: if this option is greyed out or missing, contact your Vizmo account manager.

Upload a layout

1. Sign in to the Vizmo portal and select the location.
2. In the left menu, select Floors, then select the floor. You can also open Live Map, choose a floor and select Edit Layout (the button reads View Layout if your role cannot update floors). The floor's page opens.
3. Select View Layout.

   

4. The page says No Layout Uploaded. Select the file box under Upload a PNG or JPG map image of this floor and choose your image.

   

5. Check that the map looks right, then select Save. The image is uploaded only when you save.
6. Select Exit Layout to go back to the list of desks, rooms or parking spaces.

After you save, you see Floor updated, and all resources have been mapped successfully. The map now shows with a Resources panel on the right. You can now place your desks, rooms and parking spaces on it. See Map desks, rooms and parking spaces on a floor layout.

Delete a layout

1. Open the floor and select View Layout.
2. Select Delete Layout.
3. In the Delete Layout box, select Delete Layout to confirm, or select Keep Layout to cancel.

Note: deleting a layout cannot be undone. It removes the map image from the floor and clears where your desks, rooms and parking spaces were placed on it, so you must place them again after you upload a new image. It does not delete the desks, rooms or parking spaces themselves.

Things to know

• Select Full Screen for a larger view of the map.
• To add desks to the floor first, see Ways to add desks to a floor.

Troubleshooting

• There is no View Layout button: desks, rooms and parking are all turned off for this location.
• Save is missing: there is nothing to save yet, or your role cannot update floors.
• Unable to read that map image: the file could not be opened. Save the plan again as a PNG or JPG and choose it again.
