Hide an employee when visitors should not be able to pick them as a host, for example a senior executive or someone who should not receive walk-in visitors. The employee stays in Directory and keeps their account.
Before you start
- Your role must allow you to update employees.
Hide an employee
- Sign in to the Vizmo portal and select the location.
- Go to Directory > Employees.
- Click the employee to open their details.
- On the Profile tab, switch on Hide This Employee From The Host List. Its description reads "If enabled, this employee will be hidden from the host list on the Kiosk and Touchless system."

- Click Save.
To show the employee again, switch the toggle off and click Save.
What changes
- The employee no longer appears when visitors pick a host on Vizmo Kiosk and touchless check-in.
- A visitor cannot choose them as host when creating their own invite.
- Staff who are signed in to the Vizmo portal can still choose a hidden employee as the host when they add a visitor or create an invite for them.
- Hiding does not disable the employee's account, delete the employee, change their account status or change their notification settings.
Troubleshooting
- The toggle is greyed out. Your role cannot update employees.
- An employee is hidden and I did not hide them. If your employees are synced from Google Workspace, SCIM or LDAP, a sync can switch this setting based on the person's status in your directory. For example, suspended users can be brought in as hidden. Check their status in your directory first.
- I hid an employee but they are visible again. The next sync from your directory can undo a change you made by hand. Change the person's status in your directory instead.
- The employee still shows on a kiosk or phone. Check that you clicked Save and that the toggle is on, then close and reopen the check-in screen.
