Choose how an employee receives notifications from Vizmo, such as a message when a visitor arrives for them. Each employee has three personal switches: SMS, Email and Push.
Saving the switches doesn't send a message. They only decide which channels Vizmo may use for the employee later.
For each channel, everything in the "What must be on" column has to be on. Host Notifications is a switch on the visitor type, under Visitors > Settings > Visitor Types, on the Notifications tab. The location switches are under Location Settings > Notifications.
| Channel | What must be on | Also needed |
|---|---|---|
| The location's Email switch, Host Notifications, and the host's Email Channel | An email address for the host | |
| SMS | The location's SMS switch, Host Notifications, and the host's SMS Channel | A phone number. No separate SMS is sent when WhatsApp is used for the message. |
| The location's WhatsApp switch and Host Notifications | A phone number. There is no employee WhatsApp switch. If WhatsApp can't deliver the message, Vizmo sends an SMS to the same number instead. | |
| Push (Vizmo Pass, employee dashboard) | The location's Push switch and the host's Push Notifications Channel | A signed-in device that allows notifications |
| Slack | The location's Push switch, Host Notifications, and the host's Push Notifications Channel | A Slack integration for the location, and a host whose email matches a Slack user |
If the host has a personal assistant, the email, SMS, WhatsApp and Slack messages go to the assistant instead, using the assistant's contact details and switches. Push notifications still go to the host's own devices, so test push on its own. See Assign a personal assistant to an employee.
Approvals and other automated messages have their own recipients and channels.
