Print a visitor's badge from the Visitor Log

Print a visitor's badge from the Visitor Log

Print a badge for a visit, either from your own browser or by sending a print job to a kiosk that is connected to a printer.

Before you start

  • Switch to the location. Badge printing isn't available in the company view.
  • For the kiosk option, a printer must already be added and linked to the kiosk. See Add a printer.
  • For background on what a badge shows, see Set up printed and digital badges.

Option 1: Print from your browser

  1. Sign in to the Vizmo portal and select the location.
  2. Go to Visitors > Visitor Log and find the visit.
  3. Click the Print Badge icon on the visit's row.

  4. A badge preview opens. It shows the visitor's photo and name, the visitor type, the host, the check-in date and time, a QR code and up to two additional fields. Click Print.

  5. Choose your printer in the browser's print window.

You need permission to update visitor logs. The icon appears only for visits that have a QR code.

Option 2: Send a print job to a kiosk

  1. Go to Visitors > Visitor Log and open the visit's details (click the row).
  2. In the Badge Print History panel, click Print Badge.

  3. In Choose kiosks that can be connected to a printer, select a kiosk. Each kiosk is labelled Online or Offline. Only visitor kiosks at the current location are listed. If the list shows "No Kiosks", none is available.

  4. Click Create.

Result: the print job is added to the Badge Print History list with its Status and Created At. If the job failed, the Error column says why.

If the panel or button is missing

  • Badge printing must be switched on for the visitor type. Go to Visitors > Settings > Visitor Types, open the type and, on the Badge tab, switch on Print Badges.

  • The visit must be approved.
  • The Print Badge button in the panel is available only for visits that were checked in today and haven't been checked out.
  • You need permission to create print jobs.

Troubleshooting

  • A job shows an error. Read the message in the Error column. If it doesn't explain the problem, contact Vizmo support and tell them the visit, the kiosk name and the time.
  • Nothing prints from your browser. Check that the right printer is selected in the browser's print window, and that printing and pop-ups aren't blocked.
  • The kiosk shows as Offline. Check that the kiosk is switched on and connected to the internet, then try again.
