Custom Pages add extra forms to a visitor type's check-in flow. Use them for details that belong on a separate screen, such as equipment information or a contractor questionnaire. Each visitor type can have up to five custom pages.
Before you start
- Select the location whose visitor types you want to change.
- Your role needs permission to update visitor types. The Add Page, edit, delete and Save controls are hidden without it.
Add a custom page
- Sign in to the Vizmo portal, go to Visitors > Settings > Visitor Types and select the pencil icon beside the visitor type.
- Open the Custom Pages tab and select Add Page. The button disappears once the visitor type has five pages.
- In the form builder that opens, enter a page title. It is required and can be up to 200 characters.
- Add questions from the list of question types. Select each question to give it a clear title and to set its choices and its Required setting. Add at least one question that visitors can answer.
- Optional: use Logic to show or hide questions, or to make an answer required, when a condition is met. Build each rule from questions on this page.
- Open Preview and try the answers your rules depend on, including leaving required answers blank. After completing the form, select Preview Again to test another case.
- Select Save in the side panel.

Vizmo shows Page saved successfully. The page appears in the Custom Pages list and is added to the visitor type's page order. The side panel saves the custom page directly, so there is no separate Save button on the Custom Pages tab. If you close the panel without saving, the page is not saved. For more on logic and preview, see Use advanced questions, logic and preview in the form creator.
Options for visitor-facing questions
- Most question types offer Show in Email, Hide for Visitors, Prefill this field (with data from the previous visit) and Read-only for Visitors. Show in Email is limited to three non-default fields across Check-in Fields and all Custom Pages combined.
- Turn on only one of Required, Hide for Visitors or Read-only for Visitors for a question. Required if counts as Required.
- Show on Badge is available on Check-in Fields, not on Custom Pages.
- Employee Selection and Multiple Employee Selection let a visitor pick one employee or several. The list searches employee names, and the visitor must type at least three letters. These questions do not offer Show in Email or a typed-in list of choices.
- Panels and dynamic panels group questions. Set the visitor options on the questions inside them. A dynamic panel repeats its group of questions so a visitor can add several entries, and it needs at least one question.
Change the order in the check-in flow
- Save the custom page, then open the visitor type's General tab.
- Under Pages Order, drag the handle beside a page to move it.
- Select Save at the top of the visitor type page.

Pages marked with the blocked icon are fixed and cannot move. Saving a custom page and saving a new page order are separate actions.
Edit or delete a page
On the Custom Pages tab, select the pencil icon beside the page, make your changes and select Save in the side panel. To remove a page, select the trash icon and confirm Delete in the Delete Custom Page dialog. Deleting a page also removes it from the page order.
Troubleshooting
If Vizmo will not save a page, it shows one of these messages:
- Page title is required. Enter a title, and shorten it if it is over 200 characters.
- Add at least one question before saving. Add a question that visitors can answer.
- Add titles to all questions before saving. Name every question, including questions inside panels.
- Dynamic panels must contain at least one question. Add a question inside each dynamic panel.
- Required and Hide for Visitors cannot both be enabled. You will also see this message with Required if in place of Required. Turn one of the two off.
- Required and Read-only for Visitors cannot both be enabled. Turn one of the two off.
- Hide for Visitors and Read-only for Visitors cannot both be enabled. Turn one of the two off.
- A maximum of three fields can be shown in email. Check the Show in Email choices on this page and on the visitor type's other forms.
