Choose how you receive notifications

Choose whether Vizmo contacts you by text message (SMS), email or push notification. These are your personal settings, and they are on your profile page.

Before you start

  • Any signed-in user, admin or employee, can change their own notification channels.
  • For text messages, add your mobile number in the Phone field on the same page.
  • Availability: if this option is greyed out or missing, contact your Vizmo account manager.

Turn notification channels on or off

  1. Sign in to the Vizmo portal.
  2. Click your name at the top right (Hello <your first name>) and select Profile.
  3. Scroll to Notification Channels.

  4. Switch each channel on or off:
    • SMS Channel: Vizmo sends text messages to the phone number on this page.
    • Email Channel: turn it off to stop event emails, such as visitor arrival emails. Some account emails, such as the email that tells you a role was assigned to you, are still sent.
    • Push Notifications Channel: sends alerts to the Vizmo Pass app, and to Slack if your company has connected it.
  5. Click Save at the top right of the page.

Result: you see "The profile has been updated successfully". Whether a message is actually sent also depends on your location's notification settings and the event that triggers it.

Note: the toggles do not take effect until you click Save.

Troubleshooting

I turned on SMS but get no text messages.

  • Check that your phone number is filled in on the same page and that you clicked Save.
  • If SMS is not available for your company, SMS Channel has no effect. Contact your Vizmo account manager.

I turned off Email but still get an email. Check that you clicked Save. Some account emails are still sent, for example when a role is assigned to your account. If you still get event notifications, ask your company admin to check the location's notification settings.
