Add a desk to a floor so that employees can book it. You can add a desk from a floor's page, or from the Desks page.

Before you start

• Your role must allow you to create desks. If you cannot see the buttons below, ask a company admin to check your role.
• Desks must be turned on for your location, and you must be within your desk limit.
• The floor must already exist. See Add a floor.
• To put the desk in a zone, create the zone first and add the floor to it. Otherwise the Zone list shows No Zone Mapped. See Create and manage zones.

Add a desk from a floor

1. Sign in to the Vizmo portal and select the location.
2. In the left menu, select Floors, then select the floor.
3. Open the Desks tab and select Add New. The New Desk panel opens.

   

4. Enter a Desk Name. This is the only required field. You can also add a Description and a Cost Per Seat/Hour. The cost is in your location's currency and is used to work out the booking cost in desk booking reports.
5. If you want, choose a Zone, one or more Department values and one or more Designation values. These decide who is offered the desk. If you leave them empty, the desk has no restriction of its own.
6. Check Desk Status. When it is on, the desk can be booked. Turn it off to create the desk without making it bookable yet.

   

7. Select Create.

The message Desk created successfully. appears and the desk is listed on the floor's Desks tab. Whether someone can book it at a given time also depends on existing bookings and your desk settings.

Add a desk from the Desks page

1. Open Desks > Desks.
2. Select New Desk.

   

3. Choose the Floor, then fill in the details as above.
4. Select Create.

• To change or delete a desk later, see Edit or delete a desk.

Troubleshooting

• Add New or New Desk is missing: desks are not turned on for this location, or your role cannot create desks. Ask a company admin to check.
• Add New or New Desk is greyed out: hover over it. If it says Desk limit reached, you have reached your desk limit. Contact your Vizmo account manager.
• Please enter the required details: a required field, such as Desk Name or Floor, is empty.
• Failed to create desk: Vizmo shows the reason it received. Fix that field and select Create again.
