The Visitor Log is the list of visits at a location, or across your company in Company View. Each row is one visit. Use it to see who has visited, who they met, whether they were approved, and when they checked in and out.
Before you start
- Your role needs permission to view visitor logs. The Visitors menu appears only when the Visitors product is turned on for the location.
- What you can do in the log depends on your role and on whether you are in a location or in Company View. See What you can do below.
Where to find it
Go to Visitors > Visitor Log. The Dashboard also shows a shorter Visitor Logs table. In the employee and tenant portals, the same page is labelled Visitor Logs.

What each row shows
- Photo (click it to enlarge): the colour of the photo's border, and the hover text, show the state of the visit: Active, Checked-out, Visit ended, checkout pending or Overstayed.
- Visitor: name, email address and company. Visitors who came through an invitation show (INVITED) after their name.
- Purpose of the visit and the Host.
- Status: icons that show whether the visitor's identifier is verified (Verified or Not Verified) and the approval state (for example No Approvals Required, or the approval's name with Pending or Rejected). A warning icon appears if there is a problem with the visitor's photo. Hover over an icon for details.
- Check-in and Check-out: the date and time of each.

Find and shape the list
The log shows one day at a time. Use the date picker to move between days. To search, filter by visitor, host, purpose or status, or choose which columns to show, including extra columns from a visitor type with Add Column, see Filter the Visitor Log.
Open a visit
Click a row to open the details panel for that visit. It has these tabs:
- Details: the information recorded for the visit.
- Approvals & More: each approval the visit needs and its status.
- Activity: a timeline of the notifications and approval steps for the visit.
- Check-out Page (administrators, when the visit used a check-out page) and Feedback (administrators).

For a tour of each tab, see View visitor log details.
What you can do
- Add Visitor: adds a visit from the portal. It appears in a location (not in Company View or the tenant portal) when your role can create visitor logs. See Check in a visitor using the web portal.
- Export: saves the log as a file. It appears when your role can create exports. See Download the visitor log.
- Row icons in a location, depending on your role: Check-out (for visits not yet checked out), Edit, Delete, and Print Badge (for visits that have a QR code). See Print a visitor's badge from the Visitor Log.
- Bulk actions: tick the boxes beside several rows to show Check-out and Delete buttons with the number of selected visits.

- In the details panel: Save your changes (see Edit visit details in the Visitor Log), Add to Blocklist or Remove from Blocklist (see Add a visitor to the blocklist), and Download Agreement when the visit has an agreement (see Download a visitor's agreement from the Vizmo portal).
- End Visit: in the employee portal, a visit's host, and the host's managers, can end a visit when check-out reminders are turned on in the check-out settings. The visit then shows Visit ended, checkout pending until the visitor is checked out. See Configure check-out settings.
Availability: if this option is greyed out or missing, contact your Vizmo account manager.
Things to know
- In Company View, you can read visits at any location, but the row icons, Save and the blocklist button are not available. Switch to a location to use them.
- Employees can open a visit but cannot check visitors out from the log. In the tenant portal, the log has no row icons or tick boxes.
